Cursor Handbook

Privacy policy

This site has no accounts and asks for nothing. The tracking that does happen here belongs to Google, and this page says exactly what it is.

Who runs this site

Cursor Handbook is operated by uwarp.design, an independent publisher, and is not affiliated with Anysphere or the Cursor product. The contact address for privacy matters is uwarpdesign@gmail.com.

What the site itself collects

Nothing that identifies you. There is no login, no registration, no newsletter and no comment system. No cookie is set by this domain. Pages are static and are served without reading anything from your browser.

The one exception is email. If you write to the address above, that message and your address sit in an ordinary inbox until the matter is dealt with, and are not added to any list or shared with anyone.

Google Analytics

Every page loads Google Analytics 4, which records the page you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, which site or search sent you, and what kind of device and browser you used. It stores an identifier in your browser so that repeat visits are counted as one person rather than several. It is used to see which pages are worth expanding; it is never joined to anything that identifies you, because nothing here identifies you.

Google AdSense

The advertising on this site is served by Google AdSense under publisher ID ca-pub-2539308867296034. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to choose which ads you see, to limit how often you see the same one, and to measure whether ads worked.

Turning off personalised ads does not remove the ads; it makes them less relevant and stops them being chosen from your browsing history.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps short-lived server logs containing IP addresses and request details for security and abuse prevention. These logs are not read for analytics and are not exported anywhere.

Links to other sites

Pages here link out to cursor.com and occasionally to other third parties. Following those links takes you into their privacy practices, not these. Cursor publishes its own privacy policy covering anything you do inside the product.

Children

This site is written for people who use a professional code editor and is not directed at children under 13. No age information is collected, and no account can be created.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete data held about you, and to object to profiling for advertising. Because this site holds no personal data of its own, most such requests are really about Google, and Google’s privacy controls are the fastest route. Anything within reach of this site can be handled by email.

Changes

If what this site loads changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to notify, so the date is the signal.

Frequently asked questions

Does this site collect my personal information?
It asks for none. There is no account, no sign-up and no contact form. The only personal data the operator ever holds is whatever you put in an email you choose to send.
Does this site use cookies?
The site itself sets none. Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which are loaded on every page, do set cookies and similar identifiers in your browser under Google's own policies.
How do I opt out of personalised advertising?
Visit Google's Ads Settings at myadcenter.google.com to turn off ad personalisation across Google's network, or aboutads.info for vendors beyond Google. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser also prevents most of it.
Is data transferred outside my country?
Yes. The site is served from Vercel's global edge network, and Google Analytics and AdSense process data on Google infrastructure, both of which operate across multiple countries including the United States.
Who do I contact about my data?
Email uwarpdesign@gmail.com. For anything held by Google rather than this site, which is most of it, Google's own privacy controls are the effective route.
