Frequently asked questions
- What can Cursor actually do?
- Four broad things: predict and apply edits as you type, run an agent that reads and changes a codebase, let you extend that agent with your own tools and instructions, and coordinate work across branches and repositories. Each feature below belongs to one of those groups.
- Which Cursor features are on the free plan?
- Tab, Plan Mode, Debug Mode, Design Mode, the visual editor, Glass, worktrees and extension support are available on every plan including Hobby. Hooks, subagents, MCP, plugins and automations require a paid plan.
- Do Cursor features differ between plans?
- Less than people expect. The paid tiers differ from each other mainly by included agent usage rather than by capability, so Pro and Ultra have the same feature list. The meaningful feature gap is between the free tier and the paid ones.
